Is Remodeling Stressful?

When thinking about starting a remodeling project, no matter the size, most people automatically think about the mess and cost of the project: dust flying everywhere, chaotic building projects beginning all over the house, and strangers entering your home. Our goal at Twin Spires Remodeling is to prevent all of these things from happening. But how do we do it? What makes us different than any other remodeling company? Read to find out more.

The Facts

There are widespread Google searches and other blogs titled "10 Tips for Surviving a Renovation Mess" or "How to Complete a Renovation without Getting a Divorce." None of these things should ever be googled by our clients because we aim to make the remodeling process as seamless and easy as possible. (Hopefully) no divorces here!

We receive three main questions from people who are considering remodeling their home but aren't yet convinced if they should do it. Those questions are, what about the mess, the price, and the strangers in our home? Every case is different, but how we treat our clients remains the same no matter the size of the project or family living in the house. This is how we answer all three of those questions.

The Mess

Most remodels are capable of being completed in sections or room-by-room. Say a client wants a kitchen remodel done on the main floor and a bathroom remodel on the upper level. We can section off those rooms and put up tarps to prevent any dust, mess, or anyone from our crew going beyond those spaces. In this example, we would be able to complete the entire project without the family needing to remove themselves from the home—no hotel bills and no mess here.

However, if a client were to want a whole home remodel (which we have done many times), we would be sure to organize the timelines so that the family would have to find other lodgings for the shortest period possible. We would continue to be diligent about the mess and maintain the client's privacy during this time. If you need to leave your home during a remodel project, consider planning vacation days and going on a family vacation during this time. That way, you are having fun while we are taking care of the hard work at home.

The Cost

All of our prices are directly listed on our website under the pricing guide. We prefer to be transparent about the cost at all times. This way, you know what you are getting and for how much. Along with the pricing guide, we prefer to have a discovery meeting, in person, with all of our clients to go over expectations, pricing, and the possibility of creating your dream home. By having this in-person meeting, we can have an easy means of communication so that everyone is on the same page, along with being able to get to know each other. This brings us to our third point.

The Strangers

It is important that no one on the Twin Spires team ever feels like a stranger to you. Brandon Fields and Alex Lemon are in the office and ready to talk whenever you have a question, concern, or need to rethink a part of the plan. Todd Shelburne is our in-house architect who is involved and invested in virtually every project from day one until the end. Any questions can also be directed at him to be answered at any time. Never do we want you to feel as if strangers are entering your home because we are here to help you create your dream house above all else.
